Bennett Family Project Hopewell, VA

A home in Hopewell VA caught fire on December 11, 2014. Hopewell Fire battled the blaze at 1504 Roanoke Avenue, bringing the bedroom fire under control but leaving smoke and water damage throughout the structure, rendering the home uninhabitable. The occupants, a family of six, including children (ages 5,6, and 8) the Bennett Family, is now residing at The Econolodge in Hopewell. Fighting More Than Fire is paying the motel bill and has engaged with Eagle Construction of VA, LLC to reconstruct the home. Eagle Bay Hardscape Products, a partner with Fighting More Than Fire, is also taking part in this restoration.

Fighting More Than Fire Founder and President, Jesse Baust, a Richmond Firefighter with 5 years on the job said, “ We are proud to undertake this project to restore a family to their home and to fulfill our mission especially at this time of the year when folks are celebrating the holidays…this family needs our help as well as the help of the entire community…we salute Eagle Construction, our long term partner, who had this to say; “Eagle Construction is proud to partner with "Fighting More Than Fire" to reconstruct the Bennett's home and give them a fresh start.  All of us on the Eagle team are excited to give back in whatever small way we can to make a difference for this family, and hopefully the community, this holiday season.” Steve Settlage, President Eagle Construction of Va., LLC
